Preston 29 June2023(TIE)-Following a series of complaints from dissatisfied customers and tradespeople, a prominent home builder in Melbourne has recently succumbed to liquidation. Red Bluff Homes, known for their construction of residential properties and multi-dwelling townhouse developments, sought the intervention of liquidators last Thursday.
This unfortunate event adds to the growing list of collapses within Victoria’s construction sector, which includes the notable case of Porter Davis, leaving around 1500 unfinished homes across the state.
The liquidation process for the failed builder, based in Keysborough, is now being handled by insolvency specialists Petr Vrsecky and Glenn Franklin from PKF Melbourne. They have assumed responsibility for assessing the company’s operations, activities, and financial standing, while also evaluating the status of 21 ongoing projects at various stages of completion.
“We are currently conducting a comprehensive review to determine the present status of all houses under construction, along with an assessment of the company’s overall position,” stated a spokesman in response to inquiries from the Herald Sun.
In an effort to mitigate the impact on affected customers, PKF is exploring the possibility of enlisting the assistance of other builders to complete the projects. On Friday, they began reaching out to those customers directly affected by this unfortunate turn of events.
